30 Minute Workouts for Busy Moms
Every new year I seem to start out with a ton of motivation to workout and be healthier in general. But ineveitably, the same problem hits – there’s just never. enough. time.
There are countless other things I would love to do instead of working out. Sleep! Play with my kids! Write a post for you all.
So this year, I did some research, tried out a ton of programs, and now have a list of the best workout programs for busy moms – and busy women in general. Let’s get to it.

1. Bikini Body Guides
I tried BBG last year and it is a very effective program to try if you are short on time.
If you haven’t heard of this workout program, here’s the quick summary: BBG is made up of a series of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) exercises that take 28 minutes to complete (but you’re going to want to make time for at least a cool-down stretch at some point during the day). The exercises are hard, but you can definitely get results.
You can read my full, detailed account of my experience with the BBG workout here.
Overall, I think this is a great option for busy women who are looking for a super effective 30 minute workout. If you are able to wake up a little earlier before work or before your kids wake up, that’s a great time to knock this out.
You can purchase the workouts as an e-book, or through their app — the Sweat app — which is $19.99 per month, or cheaper if you do a longer term plan. The price was not my favorite, but it definitely made me commit even more since I knew that charge was coming each month.
2. FitOn
I recently discovered FitOn through I think, a random Facebook ad, and it’s now been my go-to for at home workouts for the last month or so.
The reason I love this workout app? Number one: it’s free! But what I really love the most is the variety of workouts they offer.
There’s everything from Barre, to Hip Hop, to workouts you can do with your baby. You can also filter workouts by length — so if you only have time for a quick 5 minute workout, that’s absolutely an option, and easy to find.
FitOn is a great option if you’re on a budget, but still want a ton of variety and great quality classes for workouts you can do at home.
3. Obe Fitness
I haven’t been able to try Obé personally, but have heard rave reviews that this is another great online app that has quick workouts for busy moms.
This one is not free, but boasts the best instructors in NYC, live and on-demand workouts, and there are a literally thousands of different classes to choose from. You can also stream the workouts on several different platforms, including Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, and Chromecast.
Obe costs $27/month, $65 for 3 months, or $199/year. You can try it for free for 7 days.
4. Fitness Blender
Fitness Blender was one of the first online workout apps I tried, because it’s completely free. They have a ton of different workout videos on their site, but I found a lot of them to be fairly basic.
Still, they are great for a quick mom workout session, and it’s easy to pick workouts that focus on specific areas you want to work on (e.g. abs, legs, full body, etc.).
5. Open Fit
Another great option for paid online workout classes that you can do at home, Open Fit has some fantastic workouts and instructors. I loooved the street dance workout that I did, because the instructor and the format was full of contagious energy and different from most other workout apps.
Another great feature from Open Fit is the programs, which are a series of workouts preset for a certain period of time. They also have classes broken up into search groups of 10 minutes or less, and 30 minutes or less.
Another bonus to Open Fit is that they have an app on the Roku, so you can play the workouts on your TV.
The current subscription rate is $96/year with a 14 day free trial, or other options for shorter commitments and a slightly higher subscription rate per month (e.g. $13/month for 3 months).
6. Bikini Body Mommy
Bikini Body Mommy is a great option if you’re on a budget. Briana offers free classes on YouTube, and you can also sign up for her 90 day challenges for free, and get the added motivation of working out with her through an entire program.
I prefer a class style of workout rather than a cardio session with repetitive exercises, but I did really enjoy her energy, and I love that these challenges are open to everyone. She also focuses on very mom friendly workouts that can even work for the postpartum stage, which is where she’s usually at when she starts her challenges.
7. Peloton App
Your first thought may be, no way do I have enough money to buy a Peloton bike right now! But surprise – you actually don’t need a Peloton to use the Peloton app.
The app includes a bunch of different, high quality courses, both live and on demand. They have everything from yoga to running to bootcamp, and the classes are really good.
Price is $12.99 a month plus tax, but you can get a 30 day free trial, which is much longer than most other workout plans.
8. MommaStrong
Last but not least, Momma Strong is a mommy workout plan that has gotten a lot of buzz in a few of my online mom groups.
This one is pretty unique in that it offers workouts tailored to the stage you’re at as a mom – covering everything from pregnancy to seasoned mama workouts.
I love the vibe of her workouts, because they’re very relaxed, real, and not a glossy fancy class where you feel like you’re the only one heaving and hopping around ungracefully. She keeps it real, and the workouts are hard, but doable.
The interface was a little confusing when I first logged in, so make sure you don’t go to the daily workout first like I did, and instead view the intro videos.
Momma Strong offers a 14-day free trial, and pricing after is $12/month.

I had never heard of some of these! What a great list. When the pandemic hit and my gym closed, I went back to Beachbody on Demand. It’s about the same price annually as OpenFit. I have bad knees, so I like that most of their programs have modifiers if you can’t do high impact. But…for totally free (+ my fav yogi), I LOVE Sarah Beth Yoga on YouTube! There are flows for anything you need and different lengths of time, too.

I definitely need to give both of those a try! The yoga sounds great – thanks for sharing!

I’ve tried the FitnessBlender workout before and they are pretty intense but easy to follow. I’m thinking to do one of Chloe Ting programmes just to see if they are worth the hype. BBG sounds like something I might try out though.
