We have a one year old! Cue the waterworks. Our youngest just turned one, and I have been wanting to start a new series on the kids’ favorites (and mine!), covering everything from clothes, to toys, to accessories and more once a month or so. I’m always searching to find age appropriate gear and the best gifts, especially when family comes knocking asking for ideas around birthdays and Christmas, so I hope this series is helpful!
Alright, let’s start with my daughter’s favorites at one year old.
This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small commission, at no extra cost to you, if you make a purchase using one of my links.
1 // Fisher Price Little People Sit with Me School Bus – This is not only my daughter’s favorite, it’s her older brother’s as well. There is something really magical about these little school buses. Bonus with this one: the music it plays is actually fairly limited (i.e. you don’t have to listen to Wheels on the Bus on endless repeat the entire day).
2 // Fisher-Price Little People Sit ‘n Stand Skyway – My kids LOVE this thing. It’s the one toy that gets played with every single day. For some reason this exact one is an obscene price on Amazon right now. This, this, and this are all similar options and much more affordable (in case the price stays crazy!).
3 // Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Car – The Cozy Coupe is a classic! We love this little car. It’s perfect for pushing a little one around the neighborhood. It even has a little horn and the bottom can be taken out once they’re ready to scoot themself along the road solo.
4 // Radio Flyer 4 in 1 Tricycle – Also a classic. Older brother has one, so this was my duaghter’s first birthday present, since we knew Will would not want to share. I love that they have different colors and that it’s versatile and works for so many different ages.
5 // Pink Glitter 1st Birthday Photo Garland – We didn’t actually have a first birthday party for my daughter, but I wanted to display some photos of her in the house for us to enjoy and reminisce (and cry). This garland is inexpensive and really pretty when it’s up. I plan to use this as decoration for her room.
6 // VTech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker – When my daughter stands up using this walker she immediately gets this huge smile on her face and giggles as she pushes it. The point? This thing is a best seller for a reason. The music is terrible (you have been warned), but babies love this thing.
7 // Amazon Music Unlimited – Amazon Music Unlimited is a step up from Amazon Prime music. It is a paid subscription, but it is so worth it, because basically every song in the world is available (and if you have an Alexa, the music is very easily available). We have the “Toddler Time” playlist on repeat all day everyday, and it has all of my daughter’s favorites.
8 // Baby Bling Headbands – I’ve mentioned these headbands before, and they are a definite favorite. They stay on well, my daughter is not bothered by them, and they’re super soft and really great quality.
9 // Halo Sleepsack – I’ve raved about Halo Sleepsacks before, and I really can’t do enough raving about them. They are so comfortable, affordable, and well-made. My kids love these and they come in a variety of fabrics and sizes. Bonus: they can also help stop your little one from climbing out of their crib.
10 // Pink and Gold First Birthday Outfit – Etsy has a ton of options for first birthday outfits, and this one from Peanut & Tot won out for me. It is BEAUTIFUL in person. Great option if you’re having a party and/or doing smash cake photos (see my instagram for a sneak peek of my daughter’s!)
