First Father’s Day Gift Ideas
Shopping for men is always so hard for me, and I know I’m not the only one that struggles to find unique, useful gifts for the men that already have everything!
This year, I wanted to put together a list of fun father’s day gifts for new dads. I polled my husband for his opinions on his favorites from new dad life, and what he would have loved to have as a new father.
Let me know your favorites in the comments, and the best gifts you’ve found for the dads in your life!

1. Photo Book
I love to get sentimental gifts, and photo books are usually a surefire way to get the emotions going. These can take some time to put together, but this could be a great gift/way to document a dad’s first year with baby.
Shutterfly has some great options and, as always, has some great deals specifically for photo books right now.
2. Diaper Bag
Since a lot of the time it’s mom and baby getting all of the new gear, it’s nice to get dad something that’s baby related.
First on my list for my husband was a diaper bag. The one he has is sadly out of stock, but Skip Hop (a fave retailer of mine for all things baby, bc their quality and design is always spot on) has a great option. This one on Amazon also gets amazing reviews.
3. Men’s Spa Salon Experience
I wasn’t sure if this idea actually existed, but it makes sense that it does, because who doesn’t like to be pampered?
If your guy is one who likes to indulge in self-care, this a great gift, especially if they’re a new dad and need some R&R.
Basically, there are now barbershops (see The Boardroom for a good example) that offer a ton of self-care options on top of the typical haircut, like massages and facials.
You’ll have to do some research on what’s available in your area, but treating a new dad to a an hour or two of self-care can be a really fun, unique gift.
4. “Dad Juice” Whiskey Glass
When I asked my husband what he wished he’d had as a new dad, he jokingly said “anything alcohol related.” Joking or not, I love Etsy and I love this “Dad Juice” whiskey glass!

5. “I’m Your Gift” Onesie
If your guy truly doesn’t want anything for himself, a onesie for baby is still a fun way to sneak in a gift to acknowledge them as a great dad. This one from Etsy is such a fun choice.
6. Sleep Mask
A good night’s sleep can be hard to come by with a new baby, but a sleep mask can be a huge help. If you want to give your guy a break once a week (or month?), a sleep mask is a great way to help them sleep better and longer.
This mask on Amazon gets crazy good reviews, and works for men and women – in case you want to treat yourself too!
7. Personalized Dear Daddy Book
I love getting personalized, custom gifts. They just add a little extra something special.
This “Dear Daddy” book on Etsy is one that I think is such a great idea. There are personalizations all throughout the book that talk about dad and their child (or children). This is a great gift for a new dad to read and enjoy with their new little one for years.
8. Nespresso Machine
This is absolutely a splurge, but I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about Nespresso coffee makers. There are several different types, so do some research on which one he may like best, but they almost all universally get amazing reviews. If you have a tired, coffee lover, this could be an amazing gift.
9. Dada Book
This “Your First Word Will Be Dada” book by Jimmy Fallon is insanely simple, so don’t expect a ton, but it made me chuckle. It’s all about getting your baby to say “dada,” and my husband was alll about this, so this was a cute book for him to have and read to our kids when they were tiny.
10. Baby Carrier
A good baby carrier is a must-have for me, particularly if you live in a metropolitan area, take public transportation a lot, or just like to go on hikes!
We invested in a few different Lillebaby carriers, and really loved to use them when our kids were small enough. My husband ended up with his own to use after I bought a second, and I think he really loved having that close bonding time with our babies.
I did a lot of research on baby carriers, and ultimately chose Lillebaby because of how it adjusted to differently aged babies – meaning no need to buy a new one after a few months, and no separate newborn insert to buy for their tiniest days.
They also come in different fabrics to help suit your climate, and have a ton of fun designs and colors.
11. A Good Sound Machine
We all know sleep can be hard to come by when you have a baby, especially when you have a monitor in your room. My husband sleeps so much better when there’s a bit of white noise in our room, so if you want to give the gift of better sleep, there are some great sound machine options to choose from.
I love our Hatch sound machines that we use for both kids’ rooms, and they just recently came out with a sound machine for adults, called the Hatch Restore. The features look amazing, and I think we’ll be investing in this one soon.
Hatch has amazing quality products and equally amazing customer service, but if you’re looking for a cheaper option, the Lesfit and Dohm are two very popular sound machines with great overall reviews.
12. Bourbon Infused Coffee
There’s definitely starting to be a sleep theme here, so let’s run with it! And what better for tired dads than coffee? Bourbon infused coffee, of course!
Uncommon Goods is one of my favorite places to shop when I’m looking for father’s day gifts for my husband or dad, because they are notoriously difficult to shop for.
Their bourbon infused coffee gets amazing reviews and though it has a bourbon flavor, don’t worry – it doesn’t actually contain any alcohol.
13. Customized Dad Can Cooler Tumbler
Another fun, useful, affordable gift is a can cooler. You know by now that I love personalized gifts – down to something as everyday as a tumbler!
This can cooler on Etsy is completely customizable and can fits standard sized cans and bottles, and can also be converted to a tumbler and used as a cup or mug.
14. Photo Calendar
I love these photo calendars from Minted, and their quality is always top-notch. This is a great gift to get for their office, so that they have a cute reminder of their kiddos throughout the day.

These are such lovely ideas! You can’t go wrong with a photo book, I’ve gifted them so many times. I also secretly want some bourbon coffee for myself, sounds tasty! x
Haha – the coffee sounds great to me too and I don’t even drink coffee! Agreed on the photo books – they really are a great gift if you want a more personal touch.
